AIR Office Closing Dates Xmas and New Year 2011/12

Seasons Greetings to All Members and Best Wishes for a Safe & Happy Holiday Season

The AIR Secretariat office will be closed from 2pm, Friday 23rd December 2011 and will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday 3rd January 2012.

Fax, voicemail and email messages communicated to the office during the course of the holiday break will be responded to in early January.

Applications are invited for position of Professional Standards Officer (Diagnostic) for the Australian Institute of Radiography.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Radiations practitioner to join the highly motivated team at the Australian Institute of Radiography. This newly created position will work closely with the Professional Accreditation and Education Board and the Professional Standards Manager to provide a comprehensive and co-ordinated approach to the delivery and maintenance of the AIR’s National Professional Development Programme (NPDP) objectives, purposes and achievements.

This is a full time, though part time or secondment will be considered, position. It will offer the right candidate an opportunity to contribute to the development of the Medical Radiation Professions in Australia. The successful candidate will be part of a progressive team working within the peak body to provide quality programs for practitioners developing clinical knowledge and skills. The position does not necessarily reside in Melbourne.

DoHA Grants RT ASMMIRT 2012-13

The Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing is supporting Radiation Therapy students and Radiation Therapy presenters to attend our conferences in 2012 and 2013.

The Radiation Therapy Advisory Panel (RTAP) is calling for applications for grants to assist either radiation therapy students seeking to attend, or Radiation Therapy practitioners presenting papers at the 2012 ASMMIRT in Sydney.

There are 90 student grants available and 45 RT presenter grants. If you are interested and are an RT student please send an email to conferences@air.asn.au with the title ‘Support for Attendance; Radiation Therapy Stream - Student‘ and a brief explanation as to how this grant will assist you to attend ASMMIRT.

CNS - PNET Cancer Foundation Grants

The Australian Institute of Radiography is pleased to announce that the 2012 Nationally Connected ASMMIRT Conference will offer the inaugural CNS PNET Cancer Foundation Grants. There are two grants available, each up to the value of early bird conference registration and return airfares (up to a maximum of $2,000).

Calls for Expression of Interest - MIACC

The AIR has a representative on the RANZCR/NATA Medical Imaging Accreditation Advisory Committee (MIACC). This role is up for renewal and the Board invites interested MI members to apply. Members are appointed for a three year period. They meet once a year with teleconferences as required.  Estimated time commitment is about five days per year.
