MIAAC - Call for Nominations
Posted 28th November 2012

NOMINATION OF REPRESENTIVE ON RANZCR/NATA MEDICAL IMAGING ACCREDITATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE - MIAAC

The RANZCR/NATA Medical Imaging Accreditation Advisory Committee (MIAAC) has a representative from the AIR.  As the AIR is an important stakeholder in medical imaging, NATA values continued representation from the AIR on MIAAC.

The current representative’s term will expire in March 2013.

The AIR is calling for nominations for a representative from the AIR to become a member of MIAAC. This can be a re-nomination of the existing representative, or a new nomination.

Broadly speaking, the role of MIAAC will include professional/technical guidance together with strategic planning and administrative support for the management of the RANZCR/NATA Medical Imaging program.

MIAAC is chaired by a Fellow of the RANZCR and includes majority membership from the College. NATA will provide the secretariat. Other stakeholders are also represented on the Committee.

Role of MIAAC Members

  • supporting the Chairman with administrative tasks as required;
  • providing professional/technical (strategic) advice relevant in their area of expertise;
  • promoting and actively participating in assessor forums;
  • recommending new members and assessors;
  • to be proactive in alerting RANZCR/NATA to emerging professional/technical and policy issues of potential importance;
  • helping ensure the role of MIAAC is fulfilled; and
  • acting as Chairman of a technical group and/or working group as or if required.

Meetings

The Committee will meet face-to-face every 12 to 18 months. There may be a need for more frequent meetings, which are usually held via teleconference. NATA covers the costs associated with MIAAC meetings.

Nominations must be received no later than Friday 7 December 2012

Please send nominations via email to info@air.asn.au with NATA / MIAAC as the subject line.
