ASMIRT branches are the life and soul of the organisation, directly connecting members with each other, through continuing professional development, social activities and various functions that advance the medical radiation professions.
The branches:
organise face-to-face and online meetings, including CPD
develop social activities and arrange graduation ceremonies for the members in the State.
liaise with state unions on awards and conditions for a range of medical radiation practitioners
have student committees that organise social events, volunteering and a link to ASMIRT
appoint education sub-committees
assist in the formation and control of sub-branches
assist Convenors and Convening Committees of the annual ASMIRT conference
Branch structure
The ASMIRT membership is organised into six branches, one in Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales (including ACT), Tasmania, South Australia (including NT) and Western Australia.
Each branch has an executive committee consisting of a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. They liaise closely with their elected Board member and provide the conduit for communications between the broader membership and the Board.
Additionally, each Branch has a student committee that is led by Student Ambassadors.
To join your state branch, contact the relevant chairperson via email.

Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy acknowledges the diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia as the traditional owners of the lands upon which we and our members operate. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and future, and value their continued custodianship of the lands, waters and seas.
