Professional Indemnity insurance

Voting category one and three members, as well as student members working under supervision, receive professional indemnity insurance as part of their membership fee. The policy provides members with confidence that they practice with safety and protection.

Importantly, the cover provides run-off cover to those who maintain a current ASMIRT membership who become, permanently retired and/or permanently cease to provide Professional Services during the policy period.

The policy limits are up to $20 million for any one claim and $60 million in total for all professional indemnity claims.

Public and Product Liability insurance

The same members as per above are also covered for public liability – $20 million for any one occurrence, and products liability – $20 million for any one occurrence and in the aggregate.

Journey injury (non-Workers Compensation)

Effective from the 30th June 2023, a new insurance policy coverage has been included as part of your ASMIRT membership.

This insurance policy is provided to eligible members in states where workers compensation insurance doesn’t provide protection for travel to and from work – including New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.
