ASMIRT Rural Clinical Placement Scheme – Semester 2 Open

The Rural Clinical Placement Scheme provides two grants per calendar year for each university that offers approved undergraduate Medical Radiation Science programs in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Additional grants may be awarded to states where additional applications have been received.

Each grant up to $1000 can be used by the recipient for necessary travel and accommodation. The grant aims to support and promote rural health initiatives. Applications are now open and close 7 September 2026.

Student Clinical Placement Guide

Written by three Medical Imaging students from NSW, this informative guide provides a framework for what to expect on your clinical placement journey. Learn how to prepare, and some tips and tricks to managing clinical placement throughout your degree.

Each university has its own unique sources of information for students going on placement - this guide complements that information from a student perspective (and does not replace it). A similar guide for Radiation Therapy students is under development and will be available soon.

Ahpra Graduation Documents

We urge student members to fill out Ahpra applications accurately, and ensure any documentation supplied to Ahpra with the application is certified according to the Ahpra requirements. Please download these documents to assist you:
