In review: #CroakeyLIVE’s Scope of Practice webinar

1 July 2024

Sponsored by ASMIRT, Croakey Health Media’s #ScopeOfPractice webinar explored opportunities for Allied Health practitioners to work to their full scope of practice in primary care.

Held on Tuesday 25 July, the webinar had the highest number of registered participants for any Croakey webinar to date. This wide interest in discussing Scope of Practice comes at a time when there are cost constraints on the health system, a substantial and sustained workforce shortage, and a general need for practitioners to see an long-term pathway for their career.

The Australian Government’s comprehensive national review on scope of practice issues for primary care practitioners is at the “business end” of its process, with a final report due by the end of October.

Watch the recording below to hear from Professor Mark Cormack, head of the review, Prof Stephen Duckett, health policy expert, Antony Nicholas, Chair of Allied Health Professionals Australia and Carolyn Heyes, President of ASMIRT.
