“Our window on the world” Surgeon’s #NRRTW message to radiographers

9 November 2024

Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Chris Harris examines medical images, day in, day out. Speaking to ASMIRT for National Radiographers and Radiation Therapists’ Week, he says the work of radiographers is “crucial to what we do.”

Chris visits the radiology department multiple times a week due to his speciality in deformity correction and cases of bones not healing as expected. Expressing his gratitude for X-rays and other medical images, he pointed out we wouldn’t know about something as simple as a broken bone without them.

“When you imagine a world without X-rays, you actually realise just how amazing they are.”

NRRTW is an ASMIRT initiative, celebrating medical radiation practitioners and their vital work. NRRTW runs from November 4-10, encompassing World Radiography Day on November 8.

This year’s theme is Medical Radiation Practitioners – An essential part of your health journey.

Do you have NRRTW celebtratory images you’d like to share? Email them to communications@asmirt.org and we’ll share them on our social media channels.
