Research

Research

Research is one of the foundation stones of the Medical Radiation Professions and underpins the high-quality care Medical Radiation Practitioners (MRPs) deliver on a daily basis. ASMIRT is committed to supporting and strengthening the conduct of research amongst all MRPs.

We support research through:

  1. Direct research grants to both advanced and novice researchers.
  2. Regular CPD topics that focus on developing members’ understanding of research techniques.
  3. A commitment to promoting relevant ethics-approved surveys to members.
  4. A dedicated Research Committee that has developed a series of resources to assist members of all experience levels to build their research skills.

ASMIRT has a specific Research Resources section within the member site, where you can access a vast range of research support materials.

The ASMIRT Research Committee is passionate about its work, and is always keen to assist members where possible. For assistance, please email research1@asmirtcommittee.org.

In addition to supporting research initiatives of ASMIRT members, the Society is a major supporter of Australian and New Zealand Medical Radiations Research Network (ANZMRRN.)

ANZMRRN is a central meeting space for radiation researchers whether novice or expert, across Australia and New Zealand. It is a place to share ideas, find research resources, offer help and expertise to colleagues, and above all to collaborate.

ANZMRRN is committed to continually improving and advancing radiation therapy and medical imaging practices through innovative and exploratory scientific, clinical and professional research that touches all aspects of medical radiation practice. Their goal is to increase high quality medical radiations, MRI and sonography research, to add to the scientific literature in order to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes for patients.

This web space provides assistance across the spectrum of researchers from novice through to the more experienced. Useful online resources such as research process flow charts and statistical tools will be immediately accessible to all whether in a public or private metropolitan hospital or rural setting.
