ASMIRT social media followers surpass 18,000

8 October 2024

In September, ASMIRT reached the milestone of more than 18,000 followers across our social media channels.

Growing by 10 percent over the previous year, the follower numbers helped increase our active page views to 270,000 users across the year.

Sally Kincaid, ASMIRT CEO said, “Social media continues to be the most cost-effective way to target new members and people interested in our professions. It is a crucial tool in increasing awareness of our professions”.

Importantly, as the number of followers has steadily built, we are also increasing our post engagement.  High post engagement, anything over 3.5% of people who like, share and comment on your content, is a measure of the quality of what you post.  ASMIRT posts regularly achieve 3.65% to 5.05% engagement rates depending on the social media channel.

Ms Kincaid said, “Not only have we increased our followers by 10 percent over the year, but we have significantly increased our engagement rates, which are above the industry average”.

In November, we are hoping for excellent engagement rates as we publish stories of patient interactions with our members through National Radiographers and Radiation Therapist’s Week.
