Meet ASMIRT’s Education Technologists

Jamie Banks

Jamie has two decades of experience across cancer care as a radiation therapist, along with professional and clinical education and digital learning. She is deeply motivated by improving patient care and is passionate about supporting medical radiation practitioners to translate theory into safe, effective everyday care, particularly in complex and rapidly evolving clinical environments. Her work focuses on making clinical knowledge usable at the point of care, supporting sound clinical reasoning, strong governance, and confident decision-making that directly impacts patient outcomes.

Through her involvement with ASMIRT eLearning, Jamie is inspired by the opportunity to bring people, knowledge, and systems together to support lifelong learning and professional currency in the delivery of patient-centred care. Her approach centres on turning complex, manual workflows into safe, human‑centred systems that move beyond static education toward learning that is embedded, adaptive, and responsive to real clinical contexts. This work reflects a strong belief that reducing cognitive load, strengthening professional judgement, and supporting consistent, evidence‑based practice ultimately enables clinicians to provide safer, higher‑quality care for their patients.
