National Lung Cancer Screening Program Now Available

22 July 2025

Eligible Australians aged between 50-70 years with no signs or symptoms of lung cancer are now able to participate in the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP).

With up to 70% of lung cancers able to be detected early through lung cancer screening, this program is expected to save hundreds of lives each year.

Radiographers are critical in the delivery of the program and providing the low-dose CT scans.

With the program now available, you should expect to start receiving patients through the program.

If you haven’t already, ensure your team is registered and integrated with the National Cancer Screening Register, which is needed for program reporting via Radiologists.

Information, education and resources are available on the program website to support you to deliver this life-saving program.
