As a Nuclear medicine technologist, Jacob loves that his job combines science and healthcare in a way that helps people.

"I get to use physics, I get to use chemistry, I get to use biology, and at the end of the day I'm helping someone out. That's really really satisfying," he says.

In ASMIRT's latest career information video, nuclear medicine technologists Jacob and Sara talk about how they discovered their passion for nuclear medicine, their time at university, and what they do in their day to day work.

Aimed at secondary school students, this video will be provided to careers counsellors by Australia's largest early careers platform, Explore Careers. ASMIRT partnered with Explore Careers in 2024, to encourage more young people to consider a career in medical radiation science. ASMIRT released radiography and radiation therapy career information videos earlier this year.
