Assist the Director of Radiology to lead and manage the diagnostic imaging service for Alice Springs Hospital, including the provision of clinical support to the Medical Imaging Department. Provide clinical advice, leadership, business analysis and strategic direction across the department for the delivery of efficient, professional and accountable diagnostic imaging services.

Requirements

  1. A degree or equivalent in Medical Radiation Science, completion or undertaking a Graduate qualifications in a field relevant to
    Medical Imaging, Health Management or Echocardiography, registration with the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT), or Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated leadership and organisation skills and abilities consistent with the professional responsibilities of the position.
  3. High standard of written and oral communication skills including effective report writing, negotiation, conflict management and collaborative skills.
  4. Self-motivated, with initiative and ability to manage a team to deliver organisation goals.
  5. Proven ability to effectively and accurately interpret, apply and promote financial and human resource management legislation, principles and practices in the workplace.
  6. Knowledge of report generation techniques, report formatting, compiling spreadsheets and options and methods of analysis and interpretation combined with proficiency in computerised accounting systems.
  7. Knowledge in the formulation and monitoring of budgets and cash flows such as a working knowledge in Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) Accounts Payable/Receivable or similar.
  8. High level leadership, knowledge of change management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain trust, establish clear goals and exercise fair and objective judgement.
  9. High level knowledge and experience in human, financial resource management and accreditation principles.
  10. Highly developed knowledge and experience in working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

What Alice Springs can offer

Alice Springs has a population of 25,000 with a further 50,000 in the surrounding catchment area. There are close to 50 remote communities that range between 80 and 100km from the hospital. Alice Springs town has a great sense of community and there are year round cultural and sporting events include the Trail Running Festival, Finke Desert Race, Masters Games and numerous music and arts festivals. The spectacular MacDonnell Ranges provide an amazing backdrop and allows for endless trips exploring the beautiful and breathtaking scenery. If walking and hiking interests you then the Larapinta Trail extends through Alice Springs with over 223km of trails from Grade 1 to 5 options. The Red Centre is the heart of Australia and a place for outback adventure and exploration.
