JMRS celebrates increase in impact factor and global ranking

10 July 2025

The Journal of Medical Radiation Sciences (JMRS) is celebrating a significant achievement, with new figures showing an increase in its international ranking and citation impact.

Clarivate’s 2024 Journal Citation Reports reveal JMRS has now earned an Impact Factor (IF) of 2.0, up from 1.8 in 2023. As IF reflects a journal's average number of citations in the past two years, this improvement shows growing engagement with the journal’s research and a stronger position within its field. JMRS now ranks 111th out of 212 journals in the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine & Medical Imaging category, placing it in the top 48% globally.

The journal also recorded an increase in its Scopus CiteScore, a broader metric that reflects citations over a four-year period. JMRS achieved a 2024 CiteScore of 3.8, rising from 3.2 in 2023. The latest score is based on 977 citations for 255 articles published between 2021 and 2024.

With JMRS research in the news this week, on top of these increases in ranking, the MRS community has every reason to celebrate this upward momentum.
