The Editors of the Journal Medical Radiation Sciences have compiled a virtual issue that marks World Radiotherapy Awareness Day (WRAD) on the 7^th of September.

This issue contains the most cited original articles in Radiation Therapy (RT) in the past two years. As the practice of RT evolves rapidly, it is a must read for practitioners and academics alike.

ASMIRT is celebrating WRAD by highlighting the role of Radiation Therapy in cancer treatment and pain management. There are 3,000 Radiation Therapists in Australia providing care to 30 percent of people with cancer each year.

Through the week of the 3^rd to 10^th of September, we hear about the public’s experience of radiation therapy, the value the profession brings to health care and we speak with radiation therapists who have been on both sides of the treatment.
