Meet our presenters

Evelyn Yu is a paediatric radiographer who's been working at Westmead Children's Hospital just over 3 years.  During this time, she has thoroughly enjoyed the rewarding journey imaging children provides,  and seeing how different it is to working with adults.  Outside of work, Evelyn love to go running and walking through nature, spend hours at the beach, and most importantly, spending time with her puppy Hiroshi.

Sahand Hooshmand is a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Sydney with a passion and interest in medical imaging, breast cancer screening, radiation dose and risk. Sahand completed his PhD in Medicine and Health in 2023. He is a practicing Radiographer at Lumus Imaging with many years of experience, and also a passionate Educator and Creator of educational content that is freely available to anyone on YouTube.

Elio Arruzza is a Lecturer and Research Academic in Medical Radiation, and the Stream Coordinator in Medical Imaging at the University of South Australia. He also practices clinically as a radiographer across both private and public radiology departments in Adelaide. Elio teaches positioning techniques and image evaluation to students across all four years of the medical imaging bachelor’s degree. He has published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles, many of which relating to radiography education, and is a regular speaker at ASMIRT and other national conferences. Elio’s other research encompasses developing and evaluating the feasibility of diagnostic imaging protocols, and how health professionals use artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice. He is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), researching how Parkinson’s disease changes the imaging appearance of certain brain regions.

Sally Bellchambers is a lecturer of Medical Radiation Science at the University of Canberra. She teaches with the goal of students learning to not only be great radiographers but also good humans. As an emerging advocate for women working in health, Sally’s presentation “Mummography - Super skill or career killer” at ASMIRT 2024 raised eyebrows and opened tear ducts. Sally has continued to press the issue of gender bias within Medical Imaging, hoping to instigate a change in attitudes, policies and management for future radiographers and society as a whole.

Adam Steward is the Tutor Radiographer at Western Health, a position that he has held for 15 years. He has 30 years experience as a clinical radiographer and a passion for general radiography. He is an active member of the profession and a prolific and reputable presenter having presented at every ASMIRT conference since 2011. Adam's contribution saw him awarded both Fellowship of ASMIRT and the Nicholas Outterside Medallion for outstanding service to the profession in 2025. Adam is a member of the MRPBA Accreditation Committee and Adjunct Industry Fellow at RMIT University.

Cameron Brown is an MRI Radiographer at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. He completed his undergraduate Medical Imaging Science Degree in 2013 at QUT and his Masters in MRI in 2021 at UQ. Cameron has a passion for education which has led him back to QUT where he now performs sessional lecturing in MRI. This is coupled with his passion for progressing the profession of radiography within healthcare through clinical-based research. In the past, this has led him to leading several progressive studies within X-Ray, CT and MRI.

Trish Hann is a UK trained Radiographer who moved to Australia a decade ago in search of better weather. She is particularly passionate about Trauma Radiography and has a Masters in Traumatology from the University of Newcastle. Her MSc thesis was on mass casualty incident management from a Radiology perspective, and she has recently rewritten her department’s MCI Plan but hopes for it to never be used. Her experience in the Trauma environment has taught her two key lessons: don’t buy your kids a trampoline, and confiscate your dad’s ladder.

Associate Professor Kelly Spuur is a leading expert in mammographic image quality with over three decades of clinical and academic experience. Based at Charles Sturt University, she combines research, teaching, and clinical practice to advance breast imaging quality and education. Her work with BreastScreen NSW and contributions to image quality evaluation, particularly through contributions to the development of Volpara Health’s TruePGMI system, have earned international recognition. Kelly chairs the ASMIRT Breast Imaging Reference Group and serves on national quality assurance panels, driving innovation and excellence in diagnostic and screening mammography across Australia.

Patrick Tito completed a Bachelor of Medical Science majoring in anatomy with honours in “education of anatomy using interactive E-tutorials” prior to a Masters in Diagnostic Radiography. His depth of anatomical knowledge and passion for education led him to major teaching hospitals to pursue his career goals. He’s been a fierce student and profession advocate through ASMIRT, university, industry, and union mechanisms. Patrick is now the Clinical Educator at The Canberra Hospital with 9 years of trauma and teaching hospital experience.
