Call for abstracts now open

The Continuing Education Committee (CEC), Queensland Branch of ASMIRT is asking for expressions of interest from Queensland student members who would like to prepare a 12+3 =15 minute online pre-recorded presentation for the Student Paper Presentation meeting on Tuesday 17th September 2024, beginning at 6.30pm. A paper of suitable standard from those presented will be chosen for the Travelling Student Fellowship award, which consists of up to $1,500 to assist in attendance and participation at ASMIRT’s Annual Conference in Adelaide, 2025. There are 2 prizes available, one for a medical imaging student presentation and another for a radiation therapy student presentation. The successful student members would represent Queensland in the Student Papers section of the main conference and compete for the National Student Prize. This is a great opportunity to become involved with radiographers and radiation therapists from all over Australia and overseas.

Papers are usually an individual effort but joint presentations are also acceptable. There are various topic areas and styles you can choose for presentation.Topics in medical imaging and radiation therapy covering techniques, recent developments, patient care and organisation/process development are all relevant. Literature reviews of comparative techniques, as well as case studies which illustrate the effectiveness/ineffectiveness of a certain process are common approaches.

If you are interested we ask that you complete and submit the abstract submission form provided above and email it to by Monday 5th of August. Once the committee has reviewed all the abstracts, the CEC will notify the successful students who will be included on the program.

If you would like more information or if you have any questions about this process, please contact the CEC Queensland email.

Abstracts close on Monday 5 August.
