ASMIRT / NZIMRT 2025 review: AI the double-edged sword

29 April 2025

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a topic of great interest and significance to MRPs and it continued to be evident at ASMIRT/NZIMRT 2025.

The closing panel discussion of the conference focused on AI, discussing its significant advantages but also reminding us of it being a double-edged sword because of its impacts on the environment, and what it may mean for practitioner / patient interaction.

The panel were in agreement about judicious application of AI, understanding where and how we want to apply it, rather than being simply being excited by new tech.

Croakey Health Media reported on the panel discussion with an article aptly named 'Artificial intelligence - the hype, hope and alarm bells'.
